Dr. Richard Wetzel

Director
Richard is an Associate Professor in the School of Design. He has been researching all forms of reality since 2006 and is especially interested in serious games, ARVR, and design ideation. In his spare time he enjoys board games, larping, and longingly looking out at the sea.

Sara Bayat Hashemi

Graduate Research Assistant
Sara is a PhD student in Human-Centered Design at the School of Design. Having completed her Master’s in Game Design, she is now interested in researching serious games and their intersection with virtual and augmented reality. To unwind, she plays simulation and strategy games and enjoys listening to piano melodies.

Abulikemu Mulading

Graduate Research Assistant
Murat is a master’s student in Game Programming. He has been a game developer for five years and has released two indie games on Steam. He also participated in the development of the multiplayer ragdoll physics game “Party Animals” as a gameplay programmer for two years. He enjoys watching movies and playing video games in his free time.

Bradley Estacio

Graduate Research Assistant
Bradley is a master’s student in Game Design. Previously having worked as a research assistant during his undergrad at IIT and NIST, he has now worked on a handful of analog and video game projects, with an interest in analog games. He spends his free time reading, playing video games, and thinking about them.

Rae Suarez

Graduate Research Assistant
Rae is a master’s student in Game Design. As an undergraduate student at Wellesley College, they did research in postcolonial game studies and choice poetics and worked on several 2D, 3D, and VR video game projects. In their free time, they enjoy listening to music and spending time with their friends.

Nate Seligson

Undergraduate Research Assistant
Nate is an undergraduate at DePaul University studying Computer Science. He has past experience creating game projects, web apps, and working with cyperphysical systems. In his free time he enjoys climbing, reading, and cooking. His personal projects often involve creating little gizmos, gadgets and thingamabobs.
